For engineering reports, lab write-ups and vivas
Humanize it.
Understand it.
Own it.
Paste an AI draft. OwnIt rewrites it clearly and explains every change, walks you through each paragraph, asks you to add your own data and examples, and checks you can defend it in a viva, before you export.
In order to measure the torque, it is important to note that we utilized a strain gauge. Additionally, the sensor has the ability to record data at 1 kHz.
Five steps from draft to defensible.
- 01
Humanize
A rule-based rewrite: wordy phrases, repeated transitions, over-long sentences. Every change comes with a plain-English reason, and you accept or reject each one.
“in order to” → “to”: shorter, same meaning.
- 02
Walkthrough
Paragraph by paragraph: a one-line gist, the key terms with definitions, a simpler version, and a concept map that follows your reading.
Mark each paragraph “Got it” or “Confusing”.
- 03
Make it yours
OwnIt finds the generic spots (vague quantities, claims without examples, results without numbers) and asks you to add your own data and experience.
“Add the value you measured, with its unit.”
- 04
Prove it
A quiz built from your report, a teach-back where you explain it in your own words, and an adaptive Viva Simulator that gets harder as you get it right.
definition → how → why → compare

Export
Download a clean .docx and an Understanding Report (your viva Q&A, glossary and weak concepts) once you've shown you understand it.
Ownership Score: an honest “you wrote 38% of this”.
Questions, answered plainly
Is this an AI detector bypass?
No. OwnIt is a learning tool. It makes writing clearer and helps you understand and add to your own report. It has no “detection score” and never claims text is undetectable.
Does it use ChatGPT or any AI model?
No. Every rewrite comes from explicit rules, a dictionary (WordNet), word statistics and a small n‑gram language model trained on Wikipedia text. There are no neural models and no external APIs.
Where is my text stored?
In your browser (IndexedDB). The server processes each request in memory and doesn't save it.
Why do some sentences not change?
Rule-based rewriting is conservative. If no candidate keeps the meaning and reads at least as well, OwnIt keeps your sentence. That's intended.
What is the Ownership Score?
An honest measure of how much of the final text is yours, how many suggestions you reviewed, how well you understood it, and how many generic spots you filled with your own work.
